Dental Stem Cells

Baby and wisdom teeth are non-controversial sources of stem cells that can be “banked” for future health needs. Unlike embryonic stem cells, dental stem cells are present in the nerve tissue of primary and wisdom teeth. Similar to the way umbilical blood is stored, dental stem cells can be stored commercially for future use.

Harvested from the pulp layer inside the teeth, these stem cells may one day correct periodontal defects and cleft palate, and may help restore nerve cells lost in diseases such as Parkinson’s. Stem cells also have the potential to save injured teeth, grow jawbone and one day might be used to correct cleft palate, one of the most common birth defects, sparing children multiple surgeries.

If this may be a service you are interested in, ask one of our team members about the opportunity to store your child’s dental stem cells.
